Important Members Newsletter June 2018

Hi everyone

As you are all aware the green is in a bad condition due to the adverse weather over the winter and the exceptionally hot spring/early summer. We are therefore trying to renovate the green by:

Watering the green more frequently. Although it costs the club 9.00 for each watering session we feel we have no option but to do this.

By partitioning off a 12 ft strip of the green and re-sowing this. This will incur additional costs i.e. seed, top dressing, fertilizer. But again we feel that we have to try.

Please remember this is your Club and we are trying very hard to improve the green.

If you feel you can contribute in any way, either helping Brian with maintaing the green or donating towards the additonal costs which will be incurred it would be much appreciated.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT ALL PLAYERS KNOW THAT THE SEEDED AREA IS OUT OF BOUNDS.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE OPEN COMPETITION,ON 29TH JULY, WHICH IS RUN BY GARY BURGESS WILL NOW TAKE PLACE AT VICTORIA PARK.

also

The competition which was due to take place on SATURDAY 7TH JULY – VICTORIA PARK V CROSSENS HAS BEEN RE-ARRANGED FOR SUNDAY 22ND JULY AT VICTORIA PARK. This impacts on the Ladies v Gents competion at Crossens – this will be re-arranged.

Thanks for your patience.

Congratulations to John Howard who recently had his first match win. Well done – many more to come.

Sue

NB although some competitions have been rearranged, the green will be available for league fixtures with plenty of room for 4 blocks.
