Ladies & Men’s President Days

Last weekend 26th and 27th July saw our President’s Ladies and Men’s Competitions.

We had 19 ladies plus Alan Mountford and made up 5 groups of 4, each player played each other in the group so there were 6 games in total for each group. We had some very close games and as usual some surprises. The best winner in each group and the three best losers went onto play quarter finals. We then had four winners who played the semi finals Sue Mountford v Sue Andersen and Noreen Lewis v Janice Hobson. Sue Andersen and Janice came through to play the final which was won by Janice who had played really well all day winning all her games. Congratulations to our 2025  Ladies President’s Day Champion Janice Hobson.

Once again thanks to our ladies and supporters who make this day a very enjoyable event.

Report from Keith Sproston on President’s Men’s Competition 

12 strong men turned out in pleasant weather to enjoy a few hours bowling. A Round Robin format of 3 groups of 4 gave us plenty of bowling. The winners from each group and the highest loser made up a final round robin. This consisted of John Townsend, Dave Rimmer, Dave Wilson and Gary Hayes. They set off after enjoying refreshments served by some of the lovely ladies in the club who turned up to support the event. 

John Townsend was the eventual winner with Dave Wilson as runner up. Our lady president Karen Holding presented the prizes and trophy, which John was delighted to receive. Congratulations to our President’s 2025 Men’s Competition winner John Townsend.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the event more than memorable.
