Memorial Trophy Random Pairs Competition

Last Saturday 9th August 2025 was our Memorial Trophy Random Pairs Competition  We had a wonderful turnout with 33 members attending, Sue Davies stepped down from playing to even the numbers and we had Allen Mountford and Frank Melling as honorary ladies. Thank you all.

The first round saw some very close matches and the 8 winning pairs went on in the main competition with the 8 losing pairs going on to play in the consolation competition. After 4 quarter finals in the main competitions we had Allen Mountford and Dave Williams v Noreen Lewis and Ray Lowe and Brenda Gillings and Dave Rimmer v Pauline Rimmer and John Townsend. Allen and Dave and Pauline and John won through to make a closely contested final with Allen and Dave winning through 21-17. Congratulations to our Memorial Random Pairs 2025 winners Allen Mountford and Dave Williams. 

The consolation competition was extremely close with the semi finals between Karen Holding and Joe Kelly v Sue Andersen and Martin Doran and Anne Lowe and Dave Wilson v Joan Sanderson and Mo Ahmady. Both semi finals were won to 20 by Karen and Joe and Anne and Dave. As expected the final was close but Anne and Dave Wilson won through to 15, congratulations to Anne and Dave as our consolation winners.
