President’s Day 2021 – Results
What a great day! The sun shone there was a fantastic turnout of members old and new to celebrate with our president for 2020/ 2021, Roy Hill. The lunch was great, too.
16 ladies played in a singles round robin format in the early stages while 24 men played in a drawn pairs round robin.
The four group winners from the ladies competiton were Noreen Lewis, Gayle Gordon, Pat McArthur and Irene Kermode who all went forward to the semi-final of the knockout stage. Gayle beat Noreen 11 – 6, Irene beat Pat 11- 9. The eventual winner was Gayle with a score of 11 – 7.

Group winners in the men’s competition were Roger O’Neill & Keith Sproston, Allen Mountford & Jim Abram, and Brian Roberts & Tony Wakefield. Dave Warrior & Mike Dunlop also went through to the semi-finals as next highest aggregate score. In a close game, Dave and Mike beat Allen and Jim 11 – 10. Roger and Keith won against Brian and Tony with a score of 11 – 8. The winning pair in the final was Mike and Dave with a score of 11-4.
Congratulations to all our players, especially Gayle, Dave and Mike. A special mention goes to Roger as one of our very new players.
