Random Pairs Competition ResultsSunday 2nd August 2020It was great to be back out in the sunshine for our first random pairs competition of the season yesterday. And isn’t the green fantastic now? How lovely to see so many familiar faces and also to welcome some new ones. 28 competitors signed in to make the 14 pairs with some excellent partnerships developing.
In the consolation comp, Noreen Lewis and George Hitchmough we’re narrowly defeated by Norma White and Mike Dunlop. Also in the semis, Allen Mountford and Brian Roberts we’re knocked out by Tony Wakefield and Terry Corfield. Tony and Terry went on to victory in the finals.
The main competition saw Sue Mountford and Martin Moran play Pat McArthur and Margaret & Dave White and Peter Smith play Jim Abram and Karen Holding in the semi finals. After very tough games, Sue and Martin & Jim and Karen made it to the Final. Jim and Karen were the eventual winners after a day of great bowling from them both. We hope there wasn’t too much friction caused in the Doran/Holding household!
