Club Championship Pairs Competition

From our Chairman Keith Sproston

25th July 2026 was the final of the Club  Championship best pairs competition. The weather was cooler than of late and we had some rain in the middle of it. It didn’t stop what turned out to be another great Crossens finals day. The bowling was as usual good and as usual had surprising results making it even better. Half way through we stopped for food. The BBQ was a great success cooked by Will Abram and Steve Barnes. The ladies of the club complimented that with cold food and cakes. The atmosphere was brilliant and I was pleased to see so many happy people enjoying the day. The consolation final was won by Barry and Pat Mc Arthur and the main final by Alan and Sue Mountford. Congratulations to them. I want to thank Sue Davies, Noreen Lewis and Anne Lowe for their help with the lead up to the event. I personally want to thank Norma White for stepping in for my partner Janice Hobson, who broke her wrist to get out of playing. Norma played so well I was so pleased for her to make the final. It was a great day and as usual the members of the club make Crossens so special to be a part of. Thanks to everyone for taking part.

Report from Noreen Lewis
