Away Day @ Black Horse

Sunday 9th August 2026 was our Away Day at the Black Horse in Croston.  Thankfully the weather was good, except for a drop of rain late in the day.

We had 23 bowlers and 4 non bowlers. There were 5 groups of 4 and 1 group of 3 and we played singles against each player in the group. The green was running very fast and definitely quirky, and we had some very close games, you certainly needed the jack.

The winner of each group plus the 2 best losers went on to play in the quarter finals.

After some close games and some not so close games Colin, Pat, John and Geoff went on to play in the semi finals. Both semis were good games Pat came through 11-8 against John and Colin came through 11-10 against Geoff.  In the final between Pat and Colin, Pat set off on an early lead, Colin got the jack and started a come back, but once Pat got the jack back she came through to win 9-5.  Congratulations to our Away Day winner 2026 Pat McArthur.

After the final we went for our meal, which was excellent.
