Championship Results 2023

Saturday 2nd September saw the Finals Day of the Club Championship Singles competition, which was played for throughout the season.

Glorious weather, sunshine all the way, green was running well, B.B.Q was fantastic – thanks Joe – good turnout of players and spectators, a great day.

Winners: The runner-up of the main competition was Mo Ahmady, who is a new bowler with Crossens and had good wins against Bryan Wilson, and then Martin Doran in the semi-final. The winner who played exceptionally well all afternoon to beat Jimmy Abram; and Karen Holding in the semis, was Colin Milnes.

The Consolation was won by Noreen Lewis, who was un-stoppable, beating Janice Hobson and Sue Davies in the semi-final. The runner up was Dave White who had some close games, and played well, to beat John Townsend and Paula Milnes in the semi-final.

The Contenders competition saw another new bowler to Crossens, Dave Wilson win the final,  beating Dave Rimmer and then Allen Mountford in the semi-final, whilst semi-finalist was Sue Mountford who had a close game against Brian Jones and then beat Pat McArthur in the semi-final.

The last final was the “better luck next time” which was won by Roy Cropper who beat Gary Hayes.

Well done to all our bowlers.

Big thank you to Keith for running the competition all season and the final, and to all the ladies who helped with the refreshments.
